Something to Celebrate

That’s the motto of Salon LaPage and you really feel it when you arrive at their beautiful location at Denton’s Unicorn Lake!  I first stepped foot in this salon and spa a few days ago when owner, Daphne Arrington, encouraged me to come over and get a cut/style.  Before I talk about my fabulous experience there I want to first take you back to 1987…whip out your side ponytail :-).

In 1987 when I was 4 years old I encountered “Monkey Lady” in the very first Sunday School class I can remember.  I lovingly gave her this name because she always used this cute little monkey puppet to talk to us and tell us Bible stories.  I adored her.   Monkey Lady morphed into “Shaklee Lady” when she introduced my family and I to the nutritional products that helped heal my body from so many ailments as a child and still to this day.  This caring and sweet lady, whose God-given name was Wanda, became a close family friend and eventually Daphne’s mother-in-law!

I have known Daphne and her family for many years.  Over the years our paths have continued to cross and crossed once again recently on facebook…I know…but don’t tell me you don’t “run into” someone this way all the time!

So, Daphne arranged a cut/style for me with one of her sweet stylists named Chelsea.  When I arrived, the receptionist welcomed me and got me a nice warm cup of coffee.  I was a few minutes early so I browsed all of the Redken products they had displayed…so much cool stuff!  Then I met Chelsea and she took me to her booth.  I really liked how she immediately asked me how I was feeling about my hair and really listened to me about what I wanted to change.  She came up with a great suggestion to give me some layers to give my fine little strands a new lease on life.  For those of you who have hair that grows as slow as mine which causes you covet every millimeter (split ends and all) you can appreciate a good stylist like Chelsea who comes up with a way to let you have your length while making it look better/healthier at the same time.

Since this was my first visit at Salon LaPage, they gave me a welcome packet before I left that contained a menu of their services with prices, discount coupons for my 2nd & 3rd visits, 20% off my next retail purchase and a sample of some good Redken conditioner.  Who doesn’t love free samples?!?

If you join their facebook page you also get a free gift!  They have great specials on their website and advertise some great deals on facebook as well.  In 2010 they were voted “Best Salon in Denton” and also awarded “Best of the Best” in Industry Source Magazine.

They’ve got some great accolades but they also have the commitment to service to back it up.  If you are looking for a place to freshen up your look, get a mani/pedi, or even resurface your skin with a microderm service, Salon LaPage can be your beauty haven.  Daphne has created an incredible business and it’s evident she truly cares about her staff and customers.  They will go out of their way to make sure your next salon/spa experience is the best!
