I am an event planner and consultant in Denton, Texas. I also enjoy supporting other locally owned businesses in the North Texas area. I am an advocate for spending our money locally because most of our local business owners are people just like me who have started their own business out of a great passion for their trade and helping others experience something fantastic!
I coordinated my first major event in 2001. I was a senior at Lake Dallas High School and the Texas State President of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. After a year of planning the State FCCLA Meeting and seeing it come together successfully, I was hooked on event planning. I have been doing the event planning gig in one way or another ever since and have a degree in Health Promotion and Marketing from the University of North Texas.
I started my own event planning business, Something to Celebrate, in October of 2008 to give me more flexibility as a mother/wife and to help others have amazing experiences in their lives. I believe I have been given the ability to plan events to help others truly enjoy their special occasion instead of being so exhausted and stressed by the time it arrives that they are miserable during the event. I decided to create a blog not only for informational purposes about my event planning business, but to also provide great event planning tips and promote other local businesses who are doing it right!
